Karen
Jo was part of a team that co-wrote and co-edited the first computer
applications curriculum for middle school in MCPS. It was published
as a CD, MCPS MS Computer Applications 2.0 Curriculum,
July, 1999.
At
their fall conference in 1995, the Mid-Atlantic Society of Children's
Book Writers and Illustrators honored Karen Jo with an award for
Second Place in their fiction contest for her unpublished, young
adult fantasy, Naomi's Gift. Below is an excerpt of the
story's beginning.
